Sports Massage Therapist: Hampden Sports Clinic

(Sessional)

Grade and Salary: £25 per hour.

FTE and working pattern: Sessional - regular sessions of at least three hours, including regular evening and weekend work. Based at Hampden Sports Clinic, with work at external locations as required.

Holiday Entitlement: Not applicable to this sessional role.

Purpose of Role

To deliver a first-class sports massage service to clients attending Hampden Sports Clinic through evidence-based treatment, excellent patient care and a professional, patient-centred approach. The successful candidate will work collaboratively within the multidisciplinary team to support patients ranging from elite athletes to members of the public.

About the Team

Hampden Sports Clinic is based within Barclays Hampden in Glasgow and provides multidisciplinary clinical services to a varied client group, ranging from members of the public to elite athletes. The successful candidate will join a small, friendly and busy team committed to high standards of clinical care, professionalism and patient experience.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality sports massage treatments appropriate to each client’s presentation and goals.

  • Independently manage the client list effectively and efficiently.

  • Maintain accurate, confidential records of all client interventions.

  • Deliver an excellent patient experience throughout every appointment.

  • Communicate effectively with physiotherapists, sports physicians, strength and conditioning coaches, sports scientists and administrative staff.

  • Contribute to the continued growth and reputation of Hampden Sports Clinic through professionalism and outstanding patient care.

  • Support clinic promotion and social media activity where appropriate.

  • Undertake CPD through meetings, courses and educational events.

  • Work within the professional standards and code of conduct of the relevant governing body.

  • Support off-site events and external clinics where required.

  • Maintain treatment areas, clinic supplies and laundry to a high standard.

  • Undertake any other duties reasonably requested by the Head of Clinic Services.

Essential & Desirable Criteria

Essential

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Good planning and organisational skills.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.

  • Ability to work under pressure and use own initiative.

  • Working knowledge of electronic clinical record systems and good IT skills.

  • Professional appearance and conduct.

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.

  • A flexible approach to working hours.

  • Registration with the appropriate professional body.

  • Relevant Sports Massage qualification.

  • Eligibility to work in the UK.

  • Excellent manual therapy skills.

Desirable

  • Experience working within private practice.

  • Experience working as part of a multidisciplinary team.

  • Experience working with sporting populations.

  • Sports First Aid qualification.
