At the sportscotland institute of sport we provide high performance expertise to sport and athletes in Scotland to enable them to succeed on the world stage. We strive to create a high performance where development & innovation can thrive.

We are looking for a Physiotherapist to provide integrated physiotherapy services across a range of sports, including athletes preparing for the 2028 Olympic and Paralympic Games and other key performance targets.

Physiotherapists at sportscotland work in a variety of sporting and clinical environments across Scotland and undertake regular national and international travel to support athletes, training camps and competition programmes.

The successful candidate will have excellent skills in optimising athlete performance, injury prevention, management and rehabilitation. You will be confident working independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team, building effective relationships with athletes, coaches and performance support staff.

To be considered for this role, you must hold a recognised Physiotherapy qualification and be registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC). A postgraduate qualification in Sports Physiotherapy, or a related discipline, would be desirable.

You will have experience as a Chartered Physiotherapist within a healthcare setting, together with significant experience supporting athletes in a multidisciplinary high-performance or professional sport environment. Experience of travelling domestically and internationally in support of athletes or teams is essential.

This vacancy is full-time with the day-to-day workload based in Edinburgh; however some work will be carried out in our Stirling office and travel throughout the institute network will be required. A full driving licence is essential, as is the ability to travel independently between sportscotland sites.
