Stepping Stones Swimming is one of Scotland’s leading private learn-to-swim providers. We deliver high-quality, low-ratio swimming lessons for children and are looking for a dependable Lifeguard and Lesson Support team member to join us at the Mercat Gait Centre.
The successful applicant will support the safe and smooth delivery of our swimming programme and help a new teacher become established in their role.
Responsibilities include:
Helping ensure the safe delivery of swimming lessons
Supporting the swimming teacher during lesson delivery
Coordinating swimmers and families poolside
Welcoming families and acting as an approachable point of contact
Helping sessions and class transitions run smoothly
Providing feedback to the Stepping Stones office when required
Applicants for lifeguarding duties should hold one of the following:
National Rescue Award for Swimming Teachers and Coaches (NRASTC)
National Pool Lifeguard Qualification (NPLQ)
STA International Pool Lifeguard qualification
A recognised swimming teaching qualification, such as SSTQ, UKCC, STA or ASA, would be beneficial but is not essential.
This is an employed position with Stepping Stones Swimming. Benefits include an allocated holiday allowance, payroll managed directly by Stepping Stones and no requirement to complete self-assessment for this employment.
