Location: Paisley, Renfrewshire

Salary: £15.00 per hour

Hours: Part-time (Term Time)

 

Working Hours

 

The role is primarily delivered during school term time, with opportunities for additional paid hours through holiday camps, tournaments and club events.

 

Typical coaching hours are:

 

  • Monday: 5:00pm – 7:30pm

  • Tuesday: 5:00pm – 7:00pm

  • Wednesday: 6:00pm – 8:00pm

  • Friday: 5:30pm – 7:30pm

About BasketballPaisley

 

BasketballPaisley is a community-focused basketball club dedicated to developing players both on and off the court. We provide a positive, inclusive environment where players of all ages and abilities can learn, compete and enjoy the game.

 

Role Purpose

 

We are looking for two enthusiastic and reliable coaches to deliver engaging basketball sessions that develop players’ skills, confidence and love of the game. The successful candidate will play an important role in creating a positive experience for every player while supporting the continued growth of BasketballPaisley.

 

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Plan and deliver fun, engaging and high-quality coaching sessions.

  • Create a safe, inclusive and positive learning environment.

  • Support the technical, tactical and personal development of players.

  • Promote teamwork, respect, effort and good sportsmanship.

  • Coach teams during league fixtures, tournaments and club events.

  • Build positive relationships with players, parents and fellow coaches.

  • Prepare equipment and maintain a safe training environment.

  • Represent BasketballPaisley professionally at all times.

 Essential Skills & Experience

 

  • Experience coaching basketball or working with children and young people.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Positive, reliable and enthusiastic attitude.

  • Passion for developing young people through sport.

  • Ability to work effectively as part of a coaching team.

 

Desirable

 

  • Basketball coaching qualification.

  • First Aid qualification.

  • Current PVG Scheme membership (or willingness to obtain).

  • Experience coaching within a club or school setting.
