Location: GLASGOW. Tuesday evenings at Newlands Park Community Tennis from April-September/ Tuesday/Wednesday evenings at Scotstoun Leisure Centre September-March
Hours: 1.5 hours coaching per week, plus any additional hours required for programme development
Rate of Pay: Competitive freelance rates based on experience (£20-£40 per hour).
Contract: Freelance, casual.
About Weegie Whackers LGBTQ+ Tennis Club
Weegie Whackers is a vibrant and inclusive LGBTQ+ tennis club based in Glasgow. We provide a welcoming and supportive space for players of all skill levels, from beginners to advanced, through structured coaching, match play, and social events. As part of our commitment to fostering LGBTQ+ participation in sport, we run regular training sessions, monthly social play, and regional/national tournament opportunities.
Role Overview
We are seeking a Freelance Head Coach (LTA Level 2 or above) to lead, coordinate, and develop our club’s coaching programme, social play, and competitive opportunities. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality coaching, managing session planning, and supporting player development within an inclusive and community-focused environment.
This is an excellent opportunity for a passionate and experienced coach who values inclusion, enjoys working with diverse groups, and wants to play a key role in expanding LGBTQ+ tennis in Scotland.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead structured weekly coaching sessions, focusing on technical, tactical, and match play aspects for beginner, intermediate, and advanced players.
- Foster a welcoming and inclusive environment that supports players of all abilities and backgrounds.
- Provide monthly updates to the Chair of the Committee on coaching outcomes, session feedback, and recommendations for future development.
