Volunteer Role Description - Secretary
The overall role of the Secretary is to assist the Chairperson with the administration of the Scottish Wheelchair Curling Association. Duties include:-
- Organising committee meetings
- Working with the chairperson to set the agenda
- Notifying details of upcoming meetings to committee members
- Preparing necessary paperwork for the meeting (including minutes and reports of the previous meeting)
- Taking notes during the meeting and distributing them to committee members
- Liasing with and providing information to Club Secretaries for them to pass onto their members
- Dealing with any correspondence
Term of Office: 2 Years
Responsible to: SWCA Membership
Selection Process: Full Members may submit nominations 7 days prior to the AGM. If there is more than one nominee for office then a ballot shall be held.
Qualities/Skills Organisational ability.
- Experience of committee work and procedures.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- A willingness to be contacted on an ad hoc basis.
- Ability to ensure decisions are taken and followed-up.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Approachable and sensitive to the feelings of others.
Expenses Reasonable travel expenses may be claimed for travel to meetings/events
Time Commitment: Approximately 8 SWCA Committee Meetings per year
