THE ROLE

Working under the guidance of the Head of First Team Operations, you will lead the day-to-day functions of the kit department both for training and match days (home and away) of the First Team squad. You should be solution orientated and should be adaptable enough to thrive in both a proactive and reactive environment. You should exemplify professionalism throughout and should be able to operate within a digital kit department.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Take responsibility for the First Team’s kit and equipment requirements.

  • Ensure all players and staff are supplied with the correct kit for training and games (being conscious of size, quantity, environmental conditions, commercial obligations, footwear etc.)

  • Support the kit requirements for the rest of Rangers Football Club – inclusive of but not limited to, the Board, Commercial Department, Communications Department, Scouting, Security and Soccer Academy.

  • Liaising with the Head of First Team Operations and Commercial Department to record any variances in orders and placing additional orders when required providing information on quantities and sizes etc.

  • Maintain an up to date inventory of all kit (stored and distributed) for the First Team, with thorough and accurate processing of orders received.

  • Monitor stock levels of training and match kit, including regular stock checks.

  • Print match day and training kit.

  • Manage player boots for both training and games.

  • Build, manage and maintain operational relationships with all kit suppliers.

  • Ensure all kit is clean, neat and stored appropriately.  

  • To organise and manage delivery schedules and timelines to facilitate the kit requirements of the Club for all key moments within the season.

  • Ensure the correct kit is packed and worn for all First Team Fixtures, to ensure this is communicated to the relevant people (both internal and external) in good time.

  • Ensure all Club facilities (training ground, stadium, changing rooms) related to kit are operational, fit for purpose and devoid of clutter.

  • Manage all staff responsible for kit inclusive of the Kit Logistics Co-Ordinator and Laundry Assistants in order to meet the needs of the club.

  • Co-ordinate and manage the logistical and operational requirements for all kit (playing and non-playing) for all games, training camps and other events as required by the Club.

  • Work with laundry staff to ensure kit is always immaculate and available when required.

  • Maintain exemplary housekeeping standards when representing the Club both home and away.

THE CANDIDATE

Job knowledge:

  • A minimum of 2 years previous experience of a supporting kit operations role within an elite football environment.

  • Must be able to demonstrate a professional and organised approach, with attention to detail. 

  • Ability to prioritise workload and thrive under pressure.

  • A full clean driving licence is a requirement of this role

  • Extensive use and maintenance of a digital stock control/inventory system.

  • Excellent IT skills, with the ability to quickly learn relevant software programmes.

This role is full time, with shifts being set as per the needs of the business. The role holder will be expected to have a flexible approach to working hours, evening and weekend work will be a requirement.
