To support our governance structure we’re recruiting Non-Executive Directors to join our Board.
We are looking for people who share our vision of improving lives by inspiring active living, and enriching the physical and mental wellbeing of our communities.
We welcome applications from all interested and motivated individuals, particularly those with experience or knowledge of finance, risk management, energy and sustainability, health and wellbeing or community engagement.
As a Non-Executive Director, you will support the Executive Management Team in:
- Developing our vision
- Building strong partnerships with health, education, regeneration, community and other local organisations
- Ensuring we operate a successful and valued business
- Supporting funding development
- Meeting our statutory obligations
- Helping us develop our most important asset – our workforce
Background
East Lothian Council has an agreed contract with Enjoy Leisure to deliver sport and leisure management services on its behalf for the people who live, work and visit East Lothian.
We support the Council’s strategic purposes:
- Breaking down barriers to accessing sport and leisure activities
- Connecting communities
- Improving the physical and emotional wellbeing of East Lothian residents
- Working in partnership with East Lothian Council in advancing the future development of Council-owned leisure facilities
To help us achieve these outcomes, we’re looking for individuals to join our Board as Non-Executive Directors. In this role, you’ll play a key part in shaping our future and driving growth and success alongside the Executive Management Team.

This is a voluntary position, with reasonable expenses reimbursed. The expected time commitment is quarterly meetings (February, May, August and November). Meetings take place via Teams, with the AGM in person within East Lothian.
