Women & Girls Coordinator: Innerleithen Golf Club

Innerleithen Golf Club has gained funding for an exciting new project.  To ensure the success of the project we are seeking a highly motivated individual for the new role of Women & Girls Coordinator.

The Role

This part-time, fixed-term position (10 hours per week) is a strategic investment designed to reverse declining female participation, embed equality and inclusion, and create sustainable pathways for women and girls to engage with golf at our club.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the planning and delivery of initiatives to increase female membership and retention.
  • Develop clear, flexible participation pathways from female beginners to established players.
  • Build and maintain partnerships with local schools, colleges, Scottish Borders Council, community organisations and Scottish Golf.
  • Deliver the targets as set out in the funding application.
  • Report to the club captain on progress against the agreed development plan.
  • Report to the monthly committee meetings

Person Specification (Essential)

We are looking for someone with a strong knowledge and passion for the game of golf.  They must have experience in the delivery of equality, inclusion, and participation in sport. Experience in programme coordination, community engagement, or sports development is essential, along with excellent communication skills and a commitment to safeguarding and inclusive practice.

Working Arrangements

  • Hours: 10 hours per week (flexible, including evenings and weekends).
  • Term: Initial three-year fixed term, subject to funding.
  • Location: The role will be based at Innerleithen Golf Club but the majority of the work will be either be remote working from home or visiting local organisations.  Occasional travel will be required in in the Scottish Golf East division to meet up with fellow co-ordinators.
