Lacrosse Scotland Junior Women’s Assistant Physiotherapist (Volunteer)

Term: The term runs yearly with option to extend with mutual agreement

Payment: this is a volunteer position and is unpaid

Commitment: training is based in Scotland with international travel as and when required

Expenses: expenses will be reimbursed in accordance with the Lacrosse Scotland Expense policy.

Overall summary

Lacrosse Scotland's Junior Women's team is made up of passionate and committed players who continually strive to achieve amazing results on the world stage. Now Lacrosse has been given Olympic recognition for the Los Angeles Games in 2028, the drive to further develop is even greater.

To help Lacrosse Scotland's Junior Women's team, we are looking for an Assistant Physiotherapist to work collaboratively with the Lead Physio and Head Coaches to provide physiotherapy support primarily to the Development and Futures Squads with the potential to also support the Performance Squad when needed.

Rebecca Withers (Lead Physiotherapist) and Heather Macrae and Gill Aldcroft (Head Coaches), Scotland Junior Women's Lacrosse Team

Job responsibilities

  • To provide physiotherapy, sports massage, pitch side first aid and taping services to players before, during and after training, matches, tours and tournaments.

Essential:

  • CSP or equivalently insured for sport coverage
  • Pitch side first aid (or willing to obtain)
  • Ability to travel worldwide
  • Ability to act professionally, demonstrating integrity and taking accountability
  • Comfortable handling confidential information and sensitive situations
  • Demonstrate anti-discrimination practices supporting an inclusive culture

Preferred:

  • Sports massage qualified
  • Experience with sport taping (or willing to be trained)
  • Already possess a PVG/DBS check and safeguarding qualification (you can apply for one through Lacrosse Scotland).

This post is open to students who have completed a minimum of 2 years of their bachelor degree or 1 year of masters in physiotherapy or sports science.

The successful candidate will have their expenses reimbursed (these must be agreed with the Manager prior to the start all events working with the team).
