The core aim of the Active Schools Network is to provide all children and young people with the opportunities and motivation to lead active, healthy lifestyles - both now and into adulthood.

Active Schools Coordinators play a key role in establishing and maintaining a strong framework for physical activity and sport within schools and the wider community. This is achieved by recruiting, mentoring, and sustaining a network of volunteers, coaches, leaders, and teachers who deliver sessions before school, during lunchtime, after school, and in community settings.

In addition to strategic development and coordination responsibilities, this role will be tailored to meet the needs of a small and rural community. This will support continuity of provision, enhance the quality of participant experiences, and strengthen engagement with pupils, staff, and community partners.

To be able to carry out the duties of this post effectively and safely, candidates will be able to provide evidence of the following:

  • Educated to degree level or relevant experience.
  • Clearly demonstrate knowledge and understanding of the aims of the Active Schools Network.
  • Extensive experience of engaging with children and young people through sport and physical activity in education, sport, health, community, leisure and/ or recreation industries.
  • Proven project management experience.

Salary: £38,474 - £41,714 pro rata

Hours: 17.5 hours per week.
