Location: Lasswade High School Centre, Gymnastics Academy, Eskdale Drive, Bonnyrigg, Midlothian, EH19 2LA - located on the outskirts of Edinburgh, approximately 8 miles from Edinburgh city centre.
Lasswade Gymnastics Club is seeking an ambitious and visionary Women's Artistic Coach (Level 3 or above) to join our leadership team as Head of Women's Artistic. This role offers an exciting opportunity to shape and advance our Women's Artistic programme while continuing to coach and nurture gymnasts.
Salary: Negotiable dependent on coaching level and experience
Contract: Part-time, permanent employment offering 5.6 weeks annual leave, pension, and funding for CPD and coaching qualifications
Hours: Up to 30 Hours Per Week initially with scope to increase.
Schedule: Flexible hours, with management and administrative duties adaptable to the successful candidate's schedule. Coaching and coach development hours can be scheduled within our programme running Tuesday to Thursday evenings, Friday afternoon/evening, and Sunday all day.
Main Responsibilities:
- Develop and deliver a progressive development plan for the WA Section.
- Manage the competition programme for WA.
- Lead and coordinate communication between coaches, gymnasts, parents, and club management.
- Provide ongoing mentoring and informal coach education to the WA Coaching team.
- Support the planning and organisation of club events.
- Plan, prepare and deliver engaging and progressive coaching sessions for gymnasts.
- Attend competitions and events as required.
Person Specification:
- Minimum of Level 3 coaching qualification in Women's Artistic, with a willingness to progress towards Level 4/5.
- Current Safeguarding and Protecting Children Certificate, and a PVG.
- Commitment to prioritising gymnasts' well-being while motivating them to develop new skills.
- High Coaching standards and strong technical knowledge within WA.
- Excellent planning and organisational skills.
- Proficient in IT skills (MS Office, Google Docs).
- Extensive Knowledge and experience of the current WAG competition pathways and judging code.
- Comfortable working independently as well as part of a team.
- Strong work ethic and dedication to continuous professional development.
- Previous mentoring and leadership experience is advantageous.
- A judging qualification would be a valuable addition.
