Stepping Stones is one of the premier private learn-to-swim providers in Scotland, renowned for our high-quality, low-ratio swimming lessons for children. We are seeking dedicated Venue Lead - Swimming Teachers and Class Lead - Swimming Teachers to join our team, with positions available in:

Queensferry High School (Edinburgh)

Venue Lead

  • Wednesday 5:00-7:00pm
  • Saturday 9:45-11:45am

Class Lead

Currie High School (Edinburgh)

Class Lead

  • Tuesday 6:00-8:00pm
  • Thursday 6:00-8:00pm

Mercat Gait, Prestonpans (East Lothian)

Role Overview:

As part of the Venue Lead role, you will deliver high-quality lessons and act as the eyes and ears on the ground, ensuring the day-to-day smooth operations of our swim lessons within our venues. This includes supporting newly qualified teachers, dealing with customer feedback, assessing class levels, and maintaining strong connections with facility staff such as facility managers or club managers. Your role will be instrumental in linking the teaching staff and venue staff with the office and ensuring the high standards of Stepping Stones are met and exceeded.

As part of the Class Lead role, you will be responsible for leading the delivery of lessons within your allocated pool space, ensuring excellent teaching standards and swimmer progression. This role is ideal for experienced teachers who enjoy delivering consistently high-quality lessons and supporting the wider team in class organisation and swimmer development.

Qualifications:

  • National Governing Body Swimming Teacher Certificate (Essential) SSTQ | UKCC | STA | ASA
  • Proven experience in a teaching or leadership role within a swim instruction environment
  • NRASTC or NPLQ qualification required

Main Duties:

  • Deliver lessons each week at your allocated venue(s) with Stepping Stones
  • Oversee the delivery and progression of swimmers within our programme, ensuring the highest quality of instruction
  • Support and mentor newly qualified teachers, providing guidance and feedback (Venue Lead role)
  • Manage customer feedback and ensure swift resolution of any issues (Venue Lead role)
  • Assess class levels and adjust lesson plans as needed for optimal learning outcomes
  • Facilitate communication between the delivery team and office staff, ensuring smooth operations (Venue Lead role)
  • Maintain strong relationships with facility staff to ensure a positive environment for our swim lessons (Venue Lead role)
  • Attend monthly training days (Stepping Stones Head Office EH21 8RX)

Additional Requirement:

  • Clean driving licence & ability to travel to various Stepping Stones venues within the region
