Job Description

Maryhill Community Tennis Club is looking for a passionate and energetic coach to join our established community-led coaching programme. As a SCIO, we are committed to opening up tennis to everyone in North Glasgow by providing high-quality, low-cost and free tennis sessions.

The successful candidate will be responsible for leading a variety of sessions on our floodlit, all-weather macadam courts, ensuring that every player—regardless of their background or ability—has a positive experience.

Key Deliverables:

  • Lead our highly popular adult coaching sessions, catering to all levels from beginners to social match-play.

  • Deliver high-energy junior sessions (Mini Red through to Yellow ball) during our busy weekend blocks.

  • Support and grow our dedicated Girls and Women’s initiatives.

  • Represent the club at community "taster" events and local sports festivals.

  • Manage session registers and equipment to maintain our high standard of community delivery.

Venue Overview

Maryhill Tennis Courts is a premier park-based facility in North Glasgow, featuring three full-size all-weather courts and four mini-tennis courts, all equipped with modern floodlighting and a Smart Gate booking system.

Person Specification

Essential: Minimum LTA Level 2 (Level 3 preferred or working towards).

Essential: Current LTA Accreditation (DBS/PVG, First Aid, and Safeguarding).

Attributes: Outgoing personality with the ability to motivate diverse groups.

Values: A genuine belief in the power of sport for social good.

Availability

Our community coaching and social programmes currently operate across the following days:

Mondays & Tuesdays (After-school/Evening blocks)

Thursdays (Evening adult sessions)

Sundays (Junior and family blocks)
