Role Description
The University of Stirling Men's 1st XI Hockey Team is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic coach to lead the squad for the 2025/26 season. The Men's 1s compete in the BUCS Premier North Division, the top level of university hockey, requiring high-quality coaching to support performance and player development.
We are looking for a coach who can provide structured training, tactical preparation, and match-day support to help the squad perform at the highest level.
Responsibilities
- Lead Monday evening training sessions (either 18:30-20:15 or 20:15-22:00).
- Coach Wednesday BUCS matches where possible.
- Develop tactical plans to compete effectively in BUCS Premier North.
- Provide feedback to players on individual and team performance.
- Work alongside the club committee to ensure long-term development of the Men's 1s.
- Note: If you are only available for trainings or match-day coaching, applications are still welcome.
Person Specification
- Previous coaching experience (desirable at university, national league, or performance club level).
- Relevant hockey coaching qualifications (minimum Level 2 or equivalent preferred).
- Strong communication and leadership skills.
- Knowledge of high-performance hockey environments.
- Enthusiasm for player development and team success.
Contract & Pay
- Fixed-term contract: 15th September 2025 - 15th May 2026.
- Paid: £40 per session, up to 25 sessions.
