Goalkeeper Coach

Boroughmuir Thistle are Scotland's largest female only football club, with over 400 girls playing the game across both regional and Next Gen pathways and a senior first team competing in the Scottish Womens Premier League 2. The football club is seeking to add an additional Goalkeeping Coach to support the expansion and development of our Goalkeeper department and our NextGen, YPL and regional academy goalkeepers.

This is an exciting role that offers an opportunity for an enthusiastic coach to make a significant impact to the development of youth goalkeepers at a forward thinking, inclusive football club. The selected candidate will work across all age groups within the regional programme and also the NextGen pathway which aims to enhance the quality of the talent development environment within girl's academy football.

The main time commitment for the role will be between 4-8 hours a week dependant on availability, with training on a Tuesday and Thursday evening and every second Sunday to support the goalkeepers on match day. This role is competitively paid with opportunities to undertake additional hours if appropriate.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Deliver engaging and detailed coaching sessions in line with the club
  • goalkeeping curriculum, ensuring player safety is maintained.
  • Provide warm up support and match day feedback to goalkeepers during NextGen
  • Fixtures.
  • Collaborate with goalkeeping and wider coaching staff to enhance the delivery of the
  • coaching curriculum.
  • Contribute to individual development plans for the goalkeepers in our pathway
  • Work closely with the Head of Goalkeeping and Academy Manager to ensure goalkeeping development aligns with the wider club curriculum, implementing the appropriate game model and principles of play.
  • Attend Goalkeeping department and wider academy meetings and CPD
  • opportunities to ensure personal knowledge is developed and refined.

Experience

Applying candidates must have experience of coaching within the girls and women's game. In lieu of previous coaching experience, playing experience will also be considered as a suitable equivalent if accompanied by appropriate coaching education. Experience working within academy football would also be desirable but not essential.

Qualifications

  • SFA Goalkeeping Award (desirable)
  • SFA Goalkeeping Certificate (essential)
  • Hold or willing to undertake PVG disclosure, Safeguarding and First Aid training where appropriate to fulfil demands of the role
