Shared first team physiotherapist: Stirling Albion FC

Stirling Albion FC is offering a unique opportunity for a passionate and driven Physiotherapist to step into a shared first-team role, working alongside our experienced Senior Physiotherapist. This opportunity is open to HCPC-registered physiotherapists who are looking to gain hands-on experience in a semi-professional football environment.

Role Overview:

You will assist in the day-to-day physiotherapy operations of the senior men's squad, gaining direct experience in injury management, rehabilitation, and matchday care. The role will operate on a shared basis, working in rotation with the Senior Physiotherapist.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide pitch-side support during first team training sessions and matchdays (home and away), as part of a shared rota
  • Assist with the assessment, treatment, and rehabilitation of injuries under the supervision of the Senior Physiotherapist
  • Contribute to player recovery, injury prevention strategies, and ongoing monitoring.
  • Maintain clear, confidential medical records in line with club protocols.
  • Work closely with coaches and fitness staff to ensure a holistic approach to player wellbeing and performance.

What We're Looking For:

  • A fully qualified physiotherapist with HCPC and CSP registration
  • A keen interest in sports physiotherapy and a commitment to developing within a high-performance football environment
  • Previous experience working with athletes (e.g., placements, university teams, academies) is desirable.
  • A willingness to learn and the ability to take initiative when working independently, while also being a reliable and communicative team player.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to remain calm and professional in fast-paced, high-pressure situations.
  • Flexibility to commit to evenings and weekends in accordance with training and fixture schedules.
  • Valid pitch-side trauma/first aid qualification (e.g. Sports First Aid/Sports Promote or equivalent) is essential or willingness to obtain.
  • This is a paid, part time role.
