Service Coordinator: GCRA

Purpose of the role:

To coordinate and support the smooth running of the network of specialist exercise classes, set up new community-based specialist exercise classes where there is an identified need, and promote the classes to increase community engagement.

Main tasks & responsibilities of the role:

  • Coordinating the network of specialist exercise classes throughout Grampian and liaising with class instructors, the Administrator, the Marketing & Funding Coordinator and the Board as required
  • Carrying out research with the aim of identifying where there may be new need for specialist exercise classes.
  • Setting up new specialist exercise classes where there is an identified need.
  • Liaising with the Administrator on venue hire requirements and monitoring.
  • Promoting the community-based specialist exercise classes through the distribution of online and offline promotional materials.
  • Acting as Lead Signatory for PVG Scheme Membership applications, attend appropriate training and advise the organisation of legislative requirements.
  • Acting as Safeguarding Lead for the organisation and work alongside the Sub Management Group on any safeguarding concerns.
  • Delivering presentations to community groups and agencies to increase awareness.
  • Establishing and building partnerships with appropriate local agencies and organisations.
  • Maintain an awareness of relevant legislative requirements pertaining to specialist exercise classes.
  • To carry out audits of the specialist exercise classes, ensuring that all health & safety requirements are met.
  • Establishing and developing policies & procedures to ensure robust governance across the organisation.
  • Supporting and promoting positive and effective internal and external communications.
  • Presenting accurate reports and updates to the Board within required timescales.
  • Representing and promoting the charity positively, including the attendance at meetings.
  • Performing miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

Hours of Work & Office Location:

  • 18 hours per week worked over 3 days, which may include occasional evening and weekend day working.
  • The role will be home-based and linked to our office in Turriff for administration purposes.
  • The role will cover Aberdeen City & Aberdeenshire and require access to a car.
  • The role is a Regulated Role (Protected Adults) and requires satisfactory membership of the PVG Scheme prior to starting the role.
