The Opportunity:
The University of Edinburgh is embarking on a ground breaking initiative - the Global Endurance Project. Our ambition is to develop an internationally renowned endurance hub, positioning the University as one of Europe's leading centres for endurance sport within the next five years. As part of this exciting vision, we are seeking a world-class High Performance Endurance Running coach to coach, lead, and manage our Edinburgh Global Endurance Project. In this pivotal role, you will oversee the development of elite endurance runners, working in collaboration with Scottish Athletics, national performance partners and commercial partners as appropriate.
Your skills and attributes for success:
- A proven track record in coaching athletes to a high performance level (preferably at World Championships, Olympic/Paralympic, European or equivalent, and Commonwealth level).
- Experience working in elite high-performance endurance running environments.
- Strong knowledge of the scientific principles underpinning high performance training programmes.
- Experience in working with and engaging high performance sports partners who can help support our athletes and sports to achieve their performance goals.
- A recognised undergraduate degree in a sport-related discipline or equivalent experience.
