Head of Foundation: Stirling Albion Foundation

The Stirling Albion Foundation is a registered Charity based at Forthbank Stadium in Stirling. We were formed in 2021 and deliver a wide range of projects throughout the Stirling Community. We utilise the widespread appeal of football to help people achieve their goals and promote participation through activities designed to improve health, education and physical and mental wellbeing.

We are now looking for a Head of Foundation with drive, passion and experience who can lead the strategic development, financial stability and operational delivery of the Foundation.

Reports to: Board of Trustees

Location: Stirling

Hours: 37.5 hours per week (including evenings and weekends)

Salary: £35,000–£45,000 (dependent on experience)

Contract Type: Permanent (subject to funding)

Role Purpose

To lead the strategic development, financial sustainability and operational delivery of the Foundation, establishing it as a high-impact, independent community charity.

The role will ensure full alignment with the football club’s footballing and commercial strategies, using the Foundation to strengthen community engagement, develop pathways into the club and contribute to supporter growth and commercial activity.

To achieve the development of a Foundation-led community hub, alongside embedding the organisation within local employability systems and delivering targeted youth work provision.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership

  • Develop and implement a 3-year strategic plan

  • Ensure sustainability, growth and strong governance

  • Position the Foundation as a leading local third-sector organisation

Community Hub Development

  • Lead the creation of a Foundation community hub

  • Undertake feasibility, site identification and business planning

  • Secure capital and revenue funding

  • Establish a multi-agency delivery model

Employability Framework Integration

  • Secure inclusion within the Stirling & Clackmannanshire employability framework

  • Develop programmes focused on skills, training and progression

  • Deliver measurable outcomes into employment, training or education

Youth Work Provision

  • Deliver structured youth work provision on Wednesday and Friday evenings

  • Target priority and at-risk young people

  • Ensure safeguarding, quality and progression pathways

Programme Oversight (Non-Coaching)

  • Oversee delivery across education, wellbeing, employability and inclusion

  • Ensure quality assurance and impact measurement

  • Manage staff and partner delivery

Footballing & Commercial Alignment

  • Align Foundation activity to footballing and commercial strategy

  • Support matchday attendance and community-to-club engagement

Matchday Responsibilities

  • Ensure Foundation activity at all First Team home fixtures

  • Coordinate community attendance and engagement

  • Deliver matchday activations linked to programmes and partners

Income Generation & Financial Management

  • Lead funding strategy (grants, partnerships, commissioned work)

  • Manage budgets and financial performance

Governance & Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with OSCR, safeguarding and data protection

  • Report to the Board of Trustees

Staff & Volunteer Leadership

  • Recruit, manage and develop staff

  • Deliver supervision, appraisal and CPD

Marketing & Impact

  • Lead communications and reporting

  • Produce high-quality impact reports

Person Specification

Essential

  • Experience in senior charity / third sector leadership

  • Proven track record in fundraising and partnership development

  • Experience managing budgets, staff and programmes

  • Strong understanding of governance and safeguarding

  • Experience in youth work and/or employability delivery

Desirable

  • Experience developing community hubs

  • Knowledge of local authority commissioning

  • Experience in sport for development

  • No coaching qualifications required.

  • £250k–£500k annual income secured

  • Community hub developed

  • Inclusion in employability framework

  • Delivery of Wednesday & Friday youth provision

  • Foundation presence at 100% of home fixtures

  • Measurable participant outcomes

  • Growth in matchday attendance via Foundation activity

Remote & Rural Community Engagement

Develop and deliver a strategy to increase the Foundation’s presence in remote and rural communities. Identify geographic gaps, deliver outreach programmes, and work with partners to overcome barriers such as transport, cost and accessibility.

Additional KPI – Rural & Remote Engagement

  • Increase delivery footprint across remote and rural areas.

  • Deliver programmes in identified underserved communities.

  • Demonstrate reduced barriers to access.
