Location Oriam, Scotland’s Sports Performance Centre, Edinburgh, EH14 4AS, and away fixture venues.

Salary Competitive salary plus excellent employee benefits

Hours Part-time, 12 hours per week.

Three nights training per week, plus a weekend matchday, with exact days and times dependent on the Academy schedule.

Heart of Midlothian Football Club is a Scottish Premiership Football Club based in Edinburgh with Elite Academy Status. We have an exciting opportunity for an Academy Coach to work within our Girls Academy.

This is an exciting opportunity for a coach who has previous experience within an elite football academy and is passionate about training and developing talented young players. The successful candidate will collaborate with the Head of Girls Academy and other Academy staff members to ensure a positive environment for young players to thrive.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work with the assigned age group at training and matches.

  • Plan and deliver high quality and engaging training sessions.

  • Understand and implement the academy game model and Hearts position specific criteria.

  • Assess and monitor player progress, in line with individual player development plans.

  • Deliver iterative feedback to players and their parents/carers, adhering to academy review guidelines. 

  • Reflect and evaluate training sessions and coaching style, to continuously develop as a coach.

  • Deliver individual and team analysis through HUDL as and when required.

  • Support matchday preparation, delivery, and post-match review for the assigned age group.

  • Create a positive environment for player development.

Essential Qualifications & Experience:

  • Candidates must hold one of the following Licenses:

    - SFA A License or currently working towards

    - UEFA Youth A License or currently working towards

  • Previous experience of working in an Elite Football Academy.

  • Previous experience in a Girls performance environment (desirable).

  • Can reliably commute to Edinburgh and other locations as per the needs of the position.

  • Legal right to work in the UK.

  • Valid UK driving license.
