Job Title: Community Coach

Reports To: Blairgowrie RFC Committee

Location: Blairgowrie

Contract (Self Employed): 20 hrs per week for 40 weeks

Hours may vary over the school year

Salary: £15.00 per hour plus expenses

Job Purpose

Blairgowrie RFC has an opportunity for an enthusiastic and self-motivated individual to play a key role in the delivery of an established rugby programme within Blairgowrie High School and cluster Primary Schools.

Principal Responsibilities

  • Lead the delivery of rugby within Blairgowrie High School and cluster primary schools including both curricular and extra circular sessions and participation in midweek state school activities.

  • Manage player transition from school to club rugby participation at Blairgowrie RFC.

  • Provide visible support throughout Mini and Midi playing levels at Blairgowrie RFC.

  • Support Active Schools with the facilitation and delivery of primary schools programmes.

  • Support sports leaders in conjunction with Active Schools to deliver rugby at local primary schools.

  • Support Blairgowrie RFC youth teams to participate in regional play programmes.

  • Support club to facilitate and deliver community activities (Holiday Camps, Come & Try).

  • Liaise with Scottish Rugby to ensure continued professional development (CPD).

  • Develop and maintain good working relationships with all partners and stakeholders.

  • Promote Blairgowrie RFC across communities via effective social media messaging.

Knowledge and Skills Requirements

  • A proactive self-starter with a flexible approach to work.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills including the ability to effectively liaise with

    players, coaches, administrators, volunteers, and other stakeholders.

  • Strong organisational and planning skills.

  • Experience of coaching or sports development within high schools.

  • Appropriate rugby coaching qualifications.

  • Satisfactory PVG check essential.

  • PC literate including Excel, Word and email

  • S&C Qualifications

  • A driving license.
