Glasgow Maccabi works to help young people build strong Jewish identities through informal Jewish educational content and programming via a range of sporting, educational, religious, social, and health and wellbeing activities. This is done whilst promoting Jewish identity, the centrality of Israel, and leadership. Glasgow Maccabi also provides access to facilities for youth recreation and other leisure time occupation encouraging and developing team spirit, fair play, good citizenship and self-discipline.
The Glasgow Maccabi Youth and Sports Centre is an important sporting hub within the Giffnock community that hosts a variety of activities for all local and Jewish community members, including but not limited to badminton, in-line skating and pickleball. We would like to add girls’ youth netball to our programme list as we are aware there is interest within the community.
About the Role
We are looking for someone with experience in dance and or cheerleading to support young girls (P4 – P7), to stay active and have fun through dance. The group is a fun session that is generally child-led but can use some direction. The weekly session is part of an overall sports block to get kids together, stay active and have fun.
The opportunity will be run on Thursday evenings from 7pm – 8.15pm, at the Glasgow Maccabi Centre (May Terrace, Giffnock, Glasgow, G46 6LD).
Dates are: Thursday 1st May, 8th May, 29th May, 5th June, 12th June, 19th June
Equipment will be available on-site, and can be purchased to supplement the need.
The role will be paid by invoice on a monthly basis at a rate of £13.50 per hour; a total of £27 per session.
The role will report to Shayna Conn – Director of the Scottish Jewish Youth Alliance (a project of Glasgow Maccabi).
