Volunteer Opportunities

Ardrossan Winton Rovers, a proud and ambitious Scottish football club, is seeking dedicated volunteers to join our backroom team as a Physiotherapist and a Goalkeeping Coach. These roles are ideal for individuals looking to gain valuable experience within a competitive football environment.

Volunteer Physiotherapist

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct pre-training and match-day injury assessments.
  • Provide pitch-side first aid and injury management on training nights and matchdays.
  • Design and oversee rehabilitation programs tailored to individual player needs.
  • Work closely with the club's Sport Scientist to monitor player wellness, recovery, and return-to-play protocols.
  • Support injury prevention initiatives and maintain accurate, confidential medical records.

Qualifications:

  • BSc (Hons) in Physiotherapy or currently studying (final year or postgraduate preferred).
  • HCPC and CSP registration (or working towards).
  • Sports First Aid or Emergency First Aid in Football (SCQF Level 6).
  • Previous experience in a sports or football environment preferred.
  • Team player with excellent communication skills.
  • Availability on Tuesday & Thursday evenings and Saturdays.

Volunteer Goalkeeping Coach

Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver structured, age-appropriate goalkeeping sessions.
  • Provide technical and tactical guidance to goalkeepers during training and matches.
  • Monitor progress and provide feedback to players and coaching staff.
  • Integrate goalkeepers into full team sessions in collaboration with the coaching team.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum Scottish FA Goalkeeping Award (Level 1.1) - higher qualifications desirable.
  • Experience coaching goalkeepers in a club environment.
  • Good knowledge of modern goalkeeping techniques and trends.
  • Strong communication and organisational skills.
  • Availability on Tuesday & Thursday evenings and Saturdays.
