Inverclyde National Sports Training Centre has been inspiring sportspeople for more than 60 years. In 2016 Cumbrae National Watersports Training Centre celebrated its 40th birthday. Now, thanks to a £12m investment from the Scottish Government and sportscotland, Inverclyde & Cumbrae is once again taking up position as a leading venue for sports development in Scotland.

sportscotland National Centre Cumbrae is looking for Casual Watersports Instructors to work at the National Watersports Centre on the idyllic island of Cumbrae. Applicants who are shortlisted will be invited to attend the Instructor staff selection/induction process.

We are looking for both Centre Watersports Instructors and Cruising Instructors; candidates who apply for both roles will be required to attend both selection/induction processes.

Centre Watersports Instructor

As a Casual Instructor, you will provide high-quality instruction at the Cumbrae Centre. You will be a skilled watersports Instructor with appropriate NGB Instructor qualifications in one or more of the following disciplines: dinghy sailing, windsurfing, powerboating and/or paddlesports. You should also have experience of working in a training centre, delivering water sports to a wide variety of client groups. Instructors must have excellent organisational and communication skills.

Cruising/Yachtmaster Instructors

As a Casual Cruising Instructor, you will provide high-quality instruction onboard our yachts. You will be a skilled Instructor with either RYA Cruising or RYA Yachtmaster Instructor qualifications. You should also have previous experience of working at a RYA training centre and delivering RYA syllabuses to a wide variety of client groups. Cruising/Yachtmaster Instructors must have excellent organisational and communication skills.

Closing date for all applications: Friday 6 March 2020.

Selection/induction for Centre Watersports Instructors: 4th and 5th April 2020, you must attend both days.

Selection/induction for Cruising/Yachtmaster Instructors: 22nd March 2020
