JOB TITLE: Head of Performance
REPORTING LINE: Sporting Director

THE ROLE
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Head of Performance to lead the team in delivering on all aspects of physical performance in line with the Club's strategy. The Head of Performance will be responsible for ensuring the correct evidence-based strength and conditioning, injury prevention, recovery, and rehabilitation programs are being implemented across both the Academy and the Men and Women's First Teams. They will alsbe responsible for the leadership, strategic direction and development of individuals within the performance area of the club.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Performance delivery
Develop and lead the physical performance department, tbe able tprovide all the necessary services tthe first team squad and management team. This will include:
- Delivery of all aspects of physical conditioning (both pitch and gym based), in coordination with existing members of staff
- Development and delivery of all relevant physical testing and monitoring strategies in coordination with existing members of staff
- Manage key aspects of the rehabilitation process including the re-introduction of players from injury, ensuring a smooth transition from early stages of injury through ttraining and competition.
- Develop and support the implementation of appropriate recovery modalities (including nutritional strategies) tsupport optimum performance and a professional lifestyle.
- Monitoring and reporting of all physical data collected from both training and matches and testing, with the aim of using the data tinform key decisions and ensure players are conditioned using individual programmes thandle the demands of both domestic and European competition.
Communication and connection
- Work closely with key staff and stakeholders within Rangers (tinclude the management/coaching staff, medical department and academy) tplan and deliver world class performance solutions for Rangers
- Work in conjunction with Head of First Team Operations tsupport the planning and delivery of effective operations for training camps and matches
- Liaise with relevant external organisations (e.g. national teams, loan clubs etc) regarding player information relevant toptimising performance for the players of Rangers.
Strategic direction and development
- Promote and lead a positive and inclusive high-performance culture in every aspect within the performance department.
- Develop and implement effective strategies that optimise connection with the U19s and the Academy tsupport clear pathway for players tdevelop whilst at the club.
- Identify, prioritise and support innovation and further developments within the area of high performance within the club in connection with the sporting director
- Provide CPD opportunities tthe wider performance department, from both within the club and external consultants tdevelop members of the performance department in line with their development agendas
- Conduct performance reviews with relevant staff members of the performance team in association with the identification and management of individual performance development plans
- Manage the performance department budget tensure best in class cost effective performance services
THE CANDIDATE
The candidate attributes include:
- A minimum of 8 years experience within professional football.
- Post-graduate qualification in Sports Science or related (Essential)
- UKSCA qualification or ability tobtain within 6 months (Desirable)
- UEFA coaching qualification (desirable)
- Proven track record in improving football performance and reducing risk of injury.
- A strong communicator with the ability tbuild key relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
- Experience in managing a team and driving a high-performance culture.
- Confident in making decisions under pressure and challenging when necessary.
- Experience in budgeting and resource management.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and organisational skills.
