What sport are you involved in and what is it that you love about it?
I have played and participated in many different sports and the sport I’ve spent most of my time doing is gymnastics. I think that gymnastics is quite unique in the respect that there are many different levels competing for the same end goal who come together and support each other. It is a sport that, to me, has few male representatives so if felt good to be participating. Gymnastics gave me many skills, friendships and experiences.
What motivated you to be part of the Young People’s Sport Panel?
Having a platform to share my views and opinions is very positive. Also, having the opportunity to improve sport for many people is something I never want to turn down. Having a positive impact on someone’s sporting life means a lot, including all the experiences and opportunities the panel will bring.
How do you think sport can help support young people in Scotland?
Sport can have a huge impact on a young person’s life as it brings them the chance to find and be their true selves. Sport is very good for our physical and mental health, and it can provide many experiences, skills, friendships and opportunities.
Is there a role model who inspires you? What is it about them that you admire?
My mum is my role model, she is such a strong and independent woman, and she never puts herself first and is my biggest supporter. She is always by my side and encourages me in everything I do. I admire how passionate and full hearted she is in everything she does. She never gives up.
