Glasgow University Women’s Football Club: 3rd Team Head Coach

Glasgow University Women’s Football Club (GUWFC) are seeking applicants for the role of a 3rd Team Head Coach. This will be the first year the newly established 3rd team will compete in BUCS [Women’s Scottish Tier 3A].

The 3rd Team Head Coach will take a leading role, along with elected club committee members & other coaches, in organising training sessions and liaising with both the Club and Team Captains to develop solutions suitable for our members. With an expanding club the 3rd Team Coach will put forward a team for league and cup matches. There will also be opportunities to work with the other squads within the club throughout the year.

The ideal candidate will have a friendly and approachable attitude with the motivation to take the club forward. They should have previous experience preparing and organising training sessions, and have the ability to communicate coaching ideas in the right manner. Preference will be given to those with previous experience working in women’s football. It is essential that the candidate is able to commit to attend matches on Wednesdays in addition to the weekly training sessions.

Essential Criteria

  • At least Level 1.3 Coaching
  • Strong communication skills
  • Personable and enthusiastic with a strong work ethic
  • Willingness to be flexible with Wednesday working hours
  • Have a valid PVG check
  • Strong interpersonal skills

Desirable Criteria

  • Experience of coaching girls and women
  • Knowledge of the PMA system
  • Knowledge and understanding of the EPPP process

Training Schedule

Training: Matchdays
Monday: 8:30pm – 10:00pm Wednesday: Daytime, varying
Tuesday: 7:00pm – 8:30pm

Closing Date: 23rd August 2020

Salary: £10 per hour
