The role 

As Broadcast & Production Technician, you will support our existing production team in the delivery of the Club’s video output and the technical provision for the Broadcast and Production department’s operations.

Based at Ibrox and Auchenhowie as well as other locations when required, the Broadcast Production Technician will be responsible for supporting the RTV Technical Manager in the delivery of all elements of live output including responsibility for live streaming and recording.

The role requires close liaison with third party providers and an up-to-date knowledge of the available platforms and providers working in live broadcast.

The Broadcast Production Technician also supports the Technical Manager in efficiently storing and managing an extensive archive of digital and physical footage.

The role involves working alongside the other members of the production team, Digital Media team, other internal departments, and external stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

  • Delivering various technical elements of the club’s live match day broadcast
  • Coordinating, recording and logging of live footage for all teams (Men, Women and Academy)
  • Coordinating and managing the storage and tagging of news footage, archive footage, b-roll and match content
  • Work alongside the RTV Technical Manager to meet the equipment requirements for the production department
  • Support Technical Manager on the identification of production equipment requirements
  • To support the maintenance and upkeep of studio and location equipment
  • Liaise with external contractors for technical support on their platforms
  • Assisting the production team in preparing interview footage and sourcing suitable b-roll footage where required
  • Editing match highlights and clips as required
  • Assisting with filming where required, including press conferences, interviews, and events

The candidate

Qualifications & Experience

  • Educated to degree level or equivalent proven experience working in a similar role for a minimum of two years
  • Experience of a live environment or broadcast studio is crucial.
  • Working knowledge of Premiere Pro and the wider Adobe Suite.
  • Experience working with remote broadcast tools and online platforms.
  • Experience in file management or databases.
  • Experience in the sporting industry is highly desirable.
  • In-depth knowledge of Rangers Football Club and football in general is highly desirable
