Academy Kit Manager: Heart of Midlothian

Report to: Head of Academy Operations 
Location:  Oriam - Scotland’s Sports Performance Centre (Edinburgh) 
Salary: Competitive salary plus excellent staff benefits.
Hours: Full time, 40 hours per week. Normally worked across Monday to Friday, with very occasional weekend work. Please note that hours will need to be worked flexibly dependent on the Academy schedule.

Heart of Midlothian is a Scottish Premiership Football Club based in Edinburgh, with Elite Academy Status. The Club have an exciting opportunity to work within the Clubs Academy Operations, on a full-time basis. 

The Academy Kit Manager will work closely with the Head of Academy Operations to support the Club’s kit and equipment provision across the Academy for staff members, Academy players from Boys 8-18s and Girls 11-17s and the Balerno Performance School where required.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Organising the laundry, kit and equipment for all boys and girls Academy players and Academy staff members as required. 
  • Take the lead with Academy kit distribution, kit and equipment inventory maintenance and assist with annual kit orders.
  • Support the needs of the Balerno Performance School in relation to kit, equipment and safe transport of players to and from school (including travel to and from Boys 18s games).
  • Work with Academy Transport Drivers to maintain the Academy transport vehicles including keeping up to date logbooks. 
  • Refuelling the Academy transport vehicles as and when required
  • Reporting any vehicle defects, faults, incidents and/or accidents to the Head of Academy Operations.
  • Complete any other tasks as requested by the Head of Academy Operations and other Senior Academy staff. 

Essential Requirements:

  • Full, clean UK driving licence which permits the driving of a minibus (D1 unrestricted or a PCV licence/ D1).
  • You must be at least 25 years of age and have held a full driving licence for a minimum of two years as per Government guidance and Company insurance requirements. Please note that drivers who passed their driving test after the 1st of January 1997 are required to hold a D1 PCV driving licence in relation to the use of the minibus and therefore your CV will only be considered if you meet these requirements.
  • Legal Right to Work in the UK.
  • High levels of attention to detail and maintenance of standards.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Good organisational skills to effectively manage time and balance workloads.
  • Previous experience of working within a Football Academy setting (Desirable).
  • Previous experience of working within a similar role (Desirable).
