Position: Volunteer U17 Girls Football Academy Coach
Location: [Varied venues across Lanarkshire]
Commitment: Part-time voluntary (evenings/weekends)
3 x training evenings & 1 x weekend match day
Reporting to: Girls Academy Manager
Role Overview:
We are seeking a passionate and committed Volunteer Coach to support the development of U17 girls within our football academy. The role focuses on developing players technically, tactically, and personally in a safe, inclusive, and positive environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in planning and delivering structured, age-appropriate training sessions.
- Support players’ technical, tactical, physical, and psychological development.
- Assist on matchdays including preparation, coaching, and player support.
- Promote respect, discipline, teamwork, and fair play.
- Ensure player safety, wellbeing, and safeguarding at all times.
- Communicate positively with players, parents, and staff.
- Act as a positive role model on and off the pitch.
- Complete team administrative tasks & player reporting reviews
Person Specification
Essential:
- Relevant SFA Coaching Qualification – UEFA Youth B / A Licence (or working towards)
- Passion for football and youth development.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Reliable and committed to regular sessions.
- Willingness to learn and develop as a coach.
- Desire to work under Club structure and philosophy
Desirable:
- Previous playing or coaching experience within Girls Academies
- Additional sports/fitness qualifications
- Safeguarding and DBS/PVG clearance (or willingness to undergo vetting process)
