Job Description
Live Life Outdoors as part of Live Life Aberdeenshire/Aberdeenshire Council are seeking experienced individuals to join our team as Senior Coaches on a Relief basis and deliver the Mountain Biking element of our established Cycle Programme “Bringing the bike to you.” We have four Relief posts available as part of this recruitment phase.
Based in Inverurie, the successful candidates will be part of the wider Outdoor Team and will deliver a range of Mountain Biking activity based cycling sessions to Primary/Secondary pupils, community events and event support across Aberdeenshire.
This new role is to ensure that our expanding programme provides high quality and progressive sessions, using our dedicated fleet of Mountain Bikes alongside a wide range of additional equipment and options that allow us to create sessions that go beyond simply riding a bike. In addition, this role will involve the planning and delivery of sessions in identified terrain suitable for Mountain Biking and the respective Risk Assessments.
The programme aligns itself to the national training programmes with an overall aim of ensuring enjoyable and safe sessions that allow children across Aberdeenshire to reinforce their confidence and enjoyment of cycling, and the focus on Mountain Biking aligns to the wider development of the activity across Aberdeenshire and Scotland.
Candidates must be qualified to National Governing Body level in Mountain Biking or a similar/transferrable accredited qualification. Please note that we will be delivering a participatory programme and wider training to cover all aspects of delivery will be provided where necessary. The programme will focus on both weekdays and weekends with occasional evening work.
There is a responsibility for the post holder to demonstrate a commitment to quality service delivery through continuous improvement for the benefit of the Service and the organisation.
