Termination Period: 4 weeks by both parties
Contract value: £14 per hour or £18 per hour for UKSCA accredited coach
Expense allowance: in line with HMRC guidance

sportscotland is looking to procure the services of Physical Preparation Coach. These services are detailed below:
Key Responsibilities:
- Implement Physical Preparation programs for assigned athletes
- Complete monthly reports in relation to the athletes under your supervision
- Design, plan and deliver appropriate workshop or learning opportunities
- Delivery of Coach Education and training for development physical preparation coaches against a set curriculum.
- Consistent dialogue must take place with the Lead Manager (H&I), Head of Physical Preparation, Key Physiotherapists and relevant Performance Managers throughout the contracted period
- Provide athlete / sport updates at identified meetings
Expected Outcomes of service:
- Achieve the minimum SIS performance Standards for the athletes relative to individual training age
- Reduce controllable injuries and to optimise return to training/competition processes
- Delivery of a professional high-quality coaching services to High Performance and performance pathway athletes
- Integrating support and programmes with other key service providers and the relevant sport specific lead
- Share relevant recording and monitoring with Institute Physical Preparation co-ordinator and sport specific coaches
Qualifications / Membership:
- Qualification / evidence of undergoing a mentoring programme in strength and conditioning, sports science or related area specialising in Strength and Conditioning or Physical Development.
- UKSCA S&C Trainer Award
- Alignment to and delivery of coaching Performance pathway and/or High Performance athletes and coaches
- Demonstrable experience in physical preparation planning and programme design with practical implementation for performance / performance pathway athletes
- Demonstrable experience of supporting coaches, athletes and service providers across multiple sports
- 1st Aid certified
- UKSCA Accreditation – desirable
- Another form of S&C Accreditation - desirable
- UKAD - Clean Sport Advisor certified for athlete support personnel
- Disclosure Scotland PVG (Protecting Vulnerable Groups) Membership for this service
Key Performance Indicators of service:
- Commitment to delivering in an integrated way with sport specific coaches and service providers in order to help us grow the local performance environments across Highlands and Islands
- Provide quality support to athletes and sports in terms of Physical Preparation sessions
- Commitment to the delivery of the Highland & Islands physical preparation workforce plan
- Timely (monthly) Recording and updating monitoring information in regard to athlete programmes
