Report to: Head of Academy Physiotherapy
Location: Oriam - Scotland’s Sports Performance Centre, Edinburgh, EH14 4AS, and away fixture venues.
Salary: Competitive salary plus excellent staff benefits.
Hours: Full time, 37.5 hours per week to be worked flexibly to meet the needs of the PDP squad training and fixture schedule, which will include evenings and weekends.

We have an exciting opportunity for a Physiotherapist to join our Academy Performance Department, working with our PDP squad. The PDP Physiotherapist is primarily responsible for the diagnosis and acute/long-term care associated with our PDP players’ musculoskeletal injuries. The PDP Physiotherapist is required to attend all PDP squad fixtures, both home and away, and to provide emergency on-pitch care of our players where required.
If you have previous experience of providing Physiotherapy services within a professional team sport environment, have a degree in Physiotherapy or related discipline, are highly motivated and passionate about working with and developing young athletes - we would love to hear from you.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide Physiotherapy cover to the PDP squad at our training facility including diagnosis, acute care and treatment, and rehabilitation from short- and long-term injuries.
Design, implement, and progress individualised rehabilitation programmes.
Provide pitch-side first aid and emergency care during PDP training sessions and match days, in line with current clinical governance standards.
Liaise with the Head of Academy Physiotherapy and Head of Academy Performance to assess players’ fitness and contribute to informed professional decision-making on players’ readiness to train and play.
Work collaboratively with the wider Performance Department including Doctors, Sport Scientists, and other specialists to optimize player care and performance.
Contribute to the planning and delivery of pre-season and new player screening processes.
Maintain accurate medical records on the Club’s AMS/EMR platform.
Liaise with external stakeholders to facilitate medical procedures taking place outside of the Club.
Essential Experience, Qualifications & Requirements:
Previous experience of providing Physiotherapy services within a full-time or part-time professional team sport environment, preferably football.
Undergraduate degree in Physiotherapy or related discipline.
HCPC registered Physiotherapist.
Advanced pitch-side care qualification such as sportPROMOTE or SCRUMCAPS.
Able to evidence Legal Right to Work in the UK.
