Gym Supervisor: Xcite West Lothian

We’re excited to introduce a new Gym Supervisor role within Xcite. This is a great opportunity for a motivated fitness professional to take on a leadership role on the gym floor and help shape the future of our gym service.

As Gym Supervisor, you’ll oversee day-to-day gym operations, support and mentor fitness staff, and help deliver a safe, inclusive, and high-quality experience for our members. Working closely with management, you’ll contribute to service development, innovation, and consistently high standards across the gym environment.

Location: Xcite Craigswood, Livingston, West Lothian
Contract Type: Full Time, permanent 
Salary: £26,151.84 per annum, £13.97 per hour

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead day-to-day gym floor operations, ensuring high standards of safety, cleanliness, and customer service

  • Support the gym team by championing our Service Standards and key business priorities.

  • Lead and drive all elements of the gym workplan.

  • Identify, evaluate, and implement emerging fitness trends that enhance the member experience.

  • Provide feedback to Duty Managers on gym instructor performance to support 1:1’s.

  • Act as a mentor and role model, proactively coaching the gym team to elevate performance, confidence, and member satisfaction.

  • Develop and execute strategies to motivate and engage the team in adopting new initiatives, ensuring successful delivery and measurable outcomes.

  • Drive member engagement through effective use of digital tools such as Mywellness and the Technogym App, ensuring consistent team utilisation.

  • Lead the gym team to conduct gym inductions, fitness assessments, and consultations and in accordance with company policies.

  • Monitor and analyse gym equipment usage, report issues, and liaise with maintenance teams for prompt resolutions.

  • Assist the Duty Manager with the preparation of staff rotas, training plans, and performance development.

  • Promote gym programmes, group classes, fitness challenges, and health initiatives aligned with our member wellness journey.

What You’ll Bring

Essential:

  • Level 2 Gym Instructor qualification (or equivalent)

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in a gym or health club environment

  • Strong communication and customer service skills

  • Knowledge of health & safety procedures

  • Ability to motivate and inspire others

Desirable:

  • Supervisory or senior fitness experience

  • Level 3 GP Referral qualification

  • First Aid and AED qualifications (or willingness to obtain)
