South Lanarkshire Disability Sport (SLDS) is looking for an enthusiastic and committed individual with experience in marketing and communication to join our committee. We are a small voluntary organisation with a focus on providing support to athletes, coaches and clubs and on creating opportunities for people with a disability to take part in sport. If you have a few hours to spare and would like to help out we would love to speak to you about our organisation, our committee and the difference you could make.

SLDS is a voluntary organisation with a responsibility to promote interest and participation in sport for people with disabilities within South Lanarkshire. SLDS is a member branch of Scottish Disability Sport (SDS) who are the governing body of sport for athletes and players with a physical, sensory or learning disability. SLDS is in the process of modernising our approach to make sure we effectively communicate with athletes, coaches, clubs and partners with the ultimate aim of providing support and creating opportunities for people with a disability to take part in sport.

The Marketing and Communications Committee Member will advise the committee on the most appropriate approach to promote and communicate the opportunities to take part in sport and the achievements of athletes across South Lanarkshire.

Main Duties:

  1. Advise SLDS on all marketing and communication
  2. Develop content to promote the work and achievements of athletes, coaches and clubs.
  3. Promote the opportunities that SLDS creates and supports to take part in sport


  1. Using social and digital media platforms
  2. Writing reports, content for various digital and traditional outlets
  3. Enthusiasm, commitment and a can do attitude


  1. Attend six committee meetings a year, plus our Awards Dinner which incorporates our AGM
  2. Flexible time commitment between meetings to your own circumstances and availability
