Term: The term runs for three years Payment: this is a volunteer position and is
unpaid.
Commitment: monthly board meetings, quarterly workshop days, attendance at AGMs
and regular meetings with committees.
Expenses: expenses will be reimbursed in accordance with the Lacrosse Scotland Expense Policy.

Overall summary
Lacrosse Scotland is the National Governing Body of lacrosse in Scotland. Lacrosse is a relatively small sport in terms of player and club base, yet amongst those who play and follow the sport, passion and commitment is extremely high. In 2021, the International Olympic Committee gave full recognition status for lacrosse, which means that lacrosse might be played at the Los Angeles Games in 2028.
Reporting to the Chair of the Board, the Marketing Director will be responsible for the development and delivery of marketing that drives growth and diversity of our player and fan base in Scotland.
Responsibilities
- Together with the other Directors deliver the Lacrosse Scotland Business Plan 2024-2028
- Strategic Marketing Leadership: Develop and lead the overall marketing strategy for Lacrosse
Scotland to increase participation at all levels. Integrate elite content into the overall plan to
inspire the next generation of players and to recognise our athletes - Brand Management: Maintain the Lacrosse Scotland brand across all platforms and ensure
consistency throughout the organisation - Commerciality: Develop and lead the sales strategy to increase and diversify revenue through
promotion of official merchandise and ticketing - Loyalty marketing: Optimise the membership proposition to attract new fans and players and
improve engagement with audience groups - Event Marketing: Promote and capitalise on the visibility of all international fixtures in Scotland
and ensure high visibility of European and Worldwide fixtures across the calendar - Data-Driven Insights: Develop the reporting framework across social platforms, website and
CRM, in order to optimise to grow and diversify the player base - Workforce: Collaborate with the Development Director to grow the pool of qualified officials and
referees in Scotland and to support their engagement with Lacrosse Scotland - Stakeholder management: Work with home nations and British Lacrosse to ensure efficiencies
and alignment on key moments across the calendar - Team Leadership: Lead and inspire the marketing team, fostering creativity, collaboration, and a
results-driven culture
Requirements
- 7+ years in a senior marketing role, ideally with a National Governing Body or within the sports or leisure sector
- Evidence of leading a marketing team, driving positive culture and being a team player
- Previous experience of working with volunteers
- Ability to think strategically; to use the insights to drive creative output
- Experience of stakeholder management
