Term: One year initial term with possibility to extend by mutual agreement

Payment: This is a volunteer position and is unpaid

Commitment: Attend squad weekends once a month and associated meetings, trainings, tours, and tournaments.

Expenses: including but not limited to travel and accommodation will be covered in accordance with Lacrosse Scotland’s Expenses Policy

Lacrosse has Olympic recognition, and part of our strategic plan is to put in place an ambitious performance programme to increase engagement and participation in the sport across schools and clubs in Scotland, which will, in turn, increase the size and depth of our national training pool.

Job overview 

We are seeking a manager who will work collaboratively with the Head Coaches and other staff to plan and deliver the logical and administrative aspects of the Scotland U20 programme. 

Responsibilities

  • Plan, deliver and evaluate all administrative and logistical aspects of the program.
  • In consultation with the Head Coaches and LS Finance Director, manage the program budget and provide players and parents with a payment schedule.
  • Collect and record all funds associated with team operations, using sound financial procedures.
  • Organise the administrative and logistical aspects of training weekends, tournaments and tours, such as booking training venues and accommodation, appropriately delegating to other persons as deemed appropriate.
  • Manage the non-coaching functions of the squad, including but not limited to player eligibility, anti-doping, fundraising, sponsorship, communications/social media and kit.
  • Be a member of the interview panel for the selection of team personnel positions, as required.
  • Seek additional funding opportunities in consultation with the Head Coaches and LS Board of Directors. 
  • Monitor and promote good sportsmanship and responsible behaviour by all team members as per the LS Code of Conduct

Specifications (preferred)

  • Prior experience of managing teams.
  • Ability to work within a set budget and produce basic account details.
  • Experience planning, producing documents and reports.
  • Strong time management and working to multiple deadlines.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate teams.
  • Positive, proactive communication skills.
  • Ability to remain positive and constructive in challenging high-stress situations.
  • Coaching, teaching, safeguarding experience or experience working with children and young adults. 

Qualifications

  • Preferred: First Aid
  • Required for appointment but can be obtained after interview stage: Clear enhanced DBS check and safeguarding qualification
