Inclusive Skating - Trustee(s)

Inclusive Skating is seeking to supplement the Board of Trustees with up to three individuals to work with the Board in developing a further exciting phase of growth.  Ideally interested candidates will bring a background in finance, fundraising or membership organisations and have experience or strong empathy with those with impairments or physical disabilities, and an understanding of the world of sport and/or the skating community.

Inclusive Skating is a charity registered in Scotland with an international operational reach and is currently exploring further international development. The principal aim of IS is to advance public participation in sport whilst promoting and facilitating equality and diversity.  IS aims to make skating open to all within a supportive environment for those facing additional challenges.  Despite recent restrictions on available skating facilities IS has become a leader in adaptation of practice and forward thinking in alternative ways of development and support. 

The current Board of four Trustees is chaired by founder Margarita Sweeney-Baird.  Board members are appointed for an initial period of four years.

The Person:

You will be an enthusiastic and hands on team player with a strong commitment to equality in sport.  Your background will include financial management or fundraising or general interest in skating development.  You will have a grounded empathy with or direct experience of individuals of all ages facing a broad spectrum of impairments.  Your skill set will reflect this background and an innovative and practical approach to communication and additional CIMSPA and Inclusive Skating training is available for your further development.

The Role/s:

As an active Board member you will help to guide and oversee the development of funding and financial policies and reporting or be active in the process of multi country affiliation.  The scope of interest and experience being sought may well be found in different potential Trustees to join the Board at this stage.


You will be digitally literate and comfortable with remote forms of communication with initial flexibility of availability.  You will be invited to undertake additional training and disclosure checks are standard where necessary.
