Stenhousemuir Football Club is inviting applications for the position of Head Sport Scientist.

This exciting role offers the opportunity to work within an ambitious and progressive football club within a professional football structure. As an integral member of the team you will play an important role in helping the club to deliver its football plan and strategy

The role will be on a part-time basis and applicants must be available to join us in advance of the start of the 2021-22 SPFL season which will start in July.

The role of the Head Sport Scientist will be to devise and deliver a comprehensive sports science programme which will be integrated into training and match day preparations for the Stenhousemuir FC first team. The successful candidate will lead on all aspects of sports science including readiness to train and readiness to play programmes, injury prevention and rehabilitation, and individual player performance programmes.

Essential Requirements 

  • Sports science related degree or qualification
  • Experience of working within a professional and/or performance sport environment 
  • Flexibility to adapt to varying working weeks in the demands of the role 
  • Full UK driving licence 

The successful applicant will report directly to the First-team Manager and will work closely with the clubs Head Physiotherapist. The role will also involve supporting and mentoring a small team of assistant sport scientists.
