Glasgow University Women’s Football Club (GUWFC) 1st Team Head Coach

Glasgow University Women’s Football Club (GUWFC) are seeking applicants for the role of a 1st Team Head Coach. The 1st Team compete in BUCS first league [Women’s Scottish Tier 1A], with the aim of winning the league and reaching the final of the Scottish Cup.

The 1st Team Head Coach will take a leading role, along with elected club committee members & other coaches, in organising 2 training sessions per week (approximately 15-25 players per session) and leading the team on Wednesday match days. The 1st Team Head Coach will liaise with both the Club and Team Captains, and other coaches, to develop and improve our players, instilling positive competition and keeping our club core values at the heart of all activity.

The ideal candidate will have a friendly and approachable attitude with the motivation to take the club and team forward. They should have previous experience preparing and organising training sessions, side-line coaching on match days, and have the ability to communicate coaching ideas in the right manner. Preference will be given to those with previous experience working in women’s football. It is essential that the candidate is able to commit to attend matches on Wednesdays in addition to the weekly training sessions.

Essential Criteria

  • At least Level 1.3 Coaching
  • Strong communication skills
  • Personable and enthusiastic with a strong work ethic
  • Willingness to be flexible with Wednesday working hours
  • Have a valid PVG check
  • Strong interpersonal skills

Desirable Criteria

  • Experience of coaching girls and women
  • Knowledge of the PMA system
  • Knowledge and understanding of the EPPP process

Training Schedule

Subject to COVID

Training:    

Monday: 8:30pm – 10:00pm                          

Tuesday: 7:00pm – 8:30pm

Matchdays

Wednesday: Daytime, varying

Salary:

Part-time, £10 per hour
