Girvan Football Club: First Team Physio - Volunteer

Club Background

Girvan Football Club are a Scottish football club based in the town of Girvan, South Ayrshire. Nicknamed the Seasiders, they were formed in 1947, and play at Hamilton Park. They currently play in the Scottish Junior Football Association, West Region.

Prior to the 2004–05 season, Girvan played in the South of Scotland Football League and as full members of the Scottish Football Association, entered the Scottish Qualifying Cup each year. When the club joined the Scottish Junior Football Association in 2004, they were allowed to continue this arrangement and since Scottish Cup re-organisation in 2007, now qualify directly for the tournament every season.

Main Objective

To support the first team taking preventative action to avoid any injuries to players and support those during injury identification and rehabilitation attending all weekly matches (As part of a weekly fixture programme).

Summary of Duties

A candidate nearing the end of their degree or qualification / Qualified that’s looking to join a forward thinking football club and becoming a Senior first team sports therapist/physio.

To undertake every opportunity to promote a positive image of Girvan Football Club.

Essential Qualifications

  • Currently undertaking University or College physiotherapy course.
  • Willingness to work evenings, weekends and training events when required.
  • Own transport essential.

Desirable Qualifications

  • Qualified (degree level) sports physiotherapist.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
