Job Description
Live Life Outdoors as part of Live Life Aberdeenshire/Aberdeenshire Council are seeking an experienced individual to join our team as a Coach and deliver our established Cycle Programme "Bringing the bike to you." We have one 0.2 FTE contracted post available as part of this recruitment phase, which will have flexibility around which day the hours are worked, linked to the needs of the delivery programme led by our Senior Coaches.
Based in Inverurie, the successful candidate will be part of the wider Outdoor Team and will deliver a range of activity based cycling sessions to pre-school and Primary/Secondary pupils, community events and event support, and in the longer term venue based programmes across Aberdeenshire.
In addition, the post will also support our Event Support programme to ensure that local communities and wider Council linked events can be supported through our range of event equipment.
This new role is to ensure that our expanding programme provides high quality and progressive sessions, using our dedicated fleet of Balance Bikes, Frog Bikes through our current collaboration with them, and Mountain Bikes alongside a wide range of additional equipment and options that allow us to create sessions that go beyond simply riding a bike. The programme aligns itself to the national training programmes with an overall aim of ensuring enjoyable and safe sessions that allow children across Aberdeenshire to reinforce their confidence and enjoyment of cycling.
Whilst these posts would suit qualified National Governing Body cycling coaches or a similar accredited training, please note that we will be delivering a participatory programme and wider training to cover all aspects will be provided where necessary. The programme will focus on both weekdays and weekends with occasional evening work.
There is a responsibility for the post holder to demonstrate a commitment to quality service delivery through continuous improvement for the benefit of the Service and the organisation.
