Club Development Officer (Edinburgh Road Club): Scottish Cycling

  • Contract Type: 18 Months Fixed Term. 15 hours per week

Scottish Cycling is the National Governing Body for cycle sport in Scotland. We are the voice of our sport and the largest cycling membership organisation in Scotland, representing the aspirations of our community. 

Our strategy, Developing a Nation of Cyclists, details our mission, vision and values and outlines how we will deliver activities across our four strategic themes of Lead, Grow, Support and Partner.  Working across six different disciplines of cycling, we are committed to developing a nation of cyclists, maximising participation for all and delivering international success. 

Edinburgh Road Club is one of Scotland’s largest cycling clubs, with sections covering a broad range of cycling disciplines, including a well established Youth Section. 

The club and Scottish Cycling are working in partnership with the principal aim of developing strong club structures to ensure the sustainable and well-planned growth of both the membership of the club and the volunteer team which underpins it.  

Through the Scottish Cycling Accelerate and Activate Direct Club Investment programme, Scottish Cycling and the club have invested in a Club Development Officer over the last 18 months, and following a change in personnel this is being extended for a further 18 months. 

Job Purpose  

This role is central to the development of the club. They will lead the development of the volunteer workforce and support the club to further build its capacity for new members.
