Stepping Stones Swimming is one of Scotland’s leading private learn-to-swim providers. We deliver high-quality, low-ratio swimming lessons for children and are looking for qualified swimming teachers to join our team in West Lothian.
Two opportunities are currently available:
Class Lead Swimming Teacher
Approximately 10 hours per week, delivering group swimming lessons across:
Monday
Wednesday
Friday
Saturday
Our Class Lead teachers deliver fun, safe and engaging group lessons for classes of up to six children. They support each swimmer’s development and progression through the Stepping Stones framework while creating a positive and welcoming environment.
1:1 Swimming Teacher
We are also recruiting a teacher for a specific 1:1 swimming tuition position in West Lothian.
The successful applicant will deliver personalised lessons tailored to the individual swimmer. They will work closely with the swimmer to build confidence, develop water skills and support progress towards agreed goals.
Applicants may apply for either opportunity or express an interest in combining the available hours.
Qualifications
Applicants must hold a recognised National Governing Body swimming teaching qualification, including:
SSTQ
UKCC
STA
ASA
An NRASTC or NPLQ qualification would be desirable but is not essential.
Responsibilities include:
Delivering safe, enjoyable and engaging swimming lessons
Following the Stepping Stones weekly teaching framework
Adapting lessons to meet the needs of individual swimmers
Monitoring and supporting swimmer progression
Assessing swimmers and providing feedback when required
Communicating effectively with families, colleagues and the Stepping Stones office
Committing consistently to the agreed weekly lessons
These are employed positions with Stepping Stones Swimming. Benefits include an allocated holiday allowance, payroll managed directly by Stepping Stones and no requirement to complete self-assessment for this employment.
We are looking for teachers who are fun, friendly, dependable and confident working with children. Applicants should be able to recognise the needs of each swimmer and adapt their approach accordingly.
