Lead Children's Football Coach - Little Kickers Edinburgh

Location: Edinburgh – Broughton High School, Stockbridge (Saturdays) and Craigmount High School, Corstorphine (Sundays).

Pay: £15.00 - £16.00 per hour, depending on experience

Hours: Part-time – Saturday and Sunday

Type: Paid

Start date: As soon as possible

Little Kickers Edinburgh is growing and we’re looking for an energetic, reliable and confident Lead Coach to join our team.

We deliver fun, structured football sessions for children aged 18 months to 8 years.

Football is the vehicle, but our sessions are about much more than developing technical football ability. We help children build confidence, coordination, communication and social skills while developing a positive relationship with sport and physical activity.

As a Lead Coach, you’ll:

  • Deliver fun, energetic and engaging sessions for young children

  • Lead activities using the Little Kickers curriculum

  • Adapt activities for different ages, abilities and personalities

  • Create a positive, safe and inclusive coaching environment

  • Build strong relationships with children and parents

  • Lead and work alongside an Assistant Coach

  • Take responsibility for the smooth running of your sessions and venue

We’re particularly interested in applicants who:

  • Have lots of energy and enthusiasm

  • Genuinely enjoy working with children

  • Are confident leading groups

  • Communicate well with both children and adults

  • Are reliable and punctual

  • Can adapt quickly when an activity isn’t working

  • Are comfortable bringing plenty of personality and imagination to sessions

Previous experience in coaching, teaching, childcare, youth work, holiday camps or children’s activities would be advantageous.

Football coaching experience is welcome but is not essential.

Successful candidates will receive structured training before leading sessions independently, including practical coaching training, early-years coaching techniques, behaviour and engagement strategies, safeguarding, parent communication, shadowing and ongoing mentoring.

For the right person, there will also be opportunities to progress into Senior Lead Coach, venue leadership and coach mentoring responsibilities as Little Kickers Edinburgh continues to grow.

The role is primarily based around Saturday and Sunday mornings, with most shifts finished by early afternoon. Reliable weekend availability is important.

A full UK driving licence and access to a car would be advantageous.
