This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced leisure professional who is passionate about customer service, health and safety, and supporting the day-to-day operation of a busy leisure facility.
What You Need to Know
Contract: Permanent, Full Time
Hours: 37 hours per week, worked within a shift rota.
Weekday shifts may start as early as 6:45am and finish as late as 10:00pm, while weekend shifts are typically between 7:30am and 6:30pm. Shift times are subject to change to meet operational needs.
Rotas generally follow a three-week cycle, providing plenty of notice of working hours.
What You'll Do
As a Senior Leisure Attendant, you will be part of an established team and report directly to the Duty Officer. You will act as a role model for colleagues, helping to ensure the centre operates smoothly while maintaining the highest standards of customer service, cleanliness, and safety.
You will complete all required training and maintain relevant qualifications, contributing to the successful operation of the facility and creating a positive experience for all visitors.
Whether supporting people to be active, creating positive experiences, or working behind the scenes to keep the facility running effectively, your work will make a visible and lasting difference within our communities.
Key Responsibilities
Supervise operational staff on duty and support the Duty Management team.
Ensure the safety of customers in the swimming pool and throughout the facility.
Carry out lifeguarding duties when required in line with industry standards and operating procedures.
Respond effectively and professionally to emergencies and incidents.
Conduct regular health and safety inspections and report hazards.
Assist with opening and closing procedures.
Deliver excellent customer service and handle enquiries and complaints professionally.
Ensure changing rooms, poolside areas, and equipment are maintained to a high standard.
Support staff development and act as a mentor for new team members.
Essential Requirements
Hold a current STA or RLSS Pool Lifeguard Qualification (certificates will be verified at interview).
Previous experience working within a leisure, fitness, or aquatic environment.
Strong communication and customer service skills.
Good understanding of health and safety procedures.
Ability to remain calm and effective under pressure.
Flexible approach to working hours, including evenings and weekends.
Desirable Requirements
First Aid qualification.
Pool Plant Operator qualification.
Experience supervising or leading a team.
Knowledge of leisure centre operations and procedures.
