About the Role
We’re looking for a proactive and detail-driven Finance Assistant to join our Finance Department on a part-time basis. Reporting directly to the Finance Manager, you’ll play a key role in supporting the day-to-day financial operations of the club.
Key Responsibilities
Assist with the full range of finance department duties, including purchase ledger, sales ledger, and general bookkeeping
Support month-end tasks such as reconciliations, accruals, and journal entries
Maintain accurate financial records and ensure compliance with internal controls
Assist with matchday and event-related financial processes where required
Respond to finance-related queries from internal teams and external partners
Support the Finance Manager with ad-hoc tasks and projects
About You
We’re looking for someone who brings both competence and initiative. You’ll be comfortable managing your own workload and adapting to shifting priorities – football clubs move quickly.
Essential skills and experience:
Experience working in a fast-paced finance role
Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage your own workload
Good attention to detail and accuracy in financial tasks
Confident using finance systems and Microsoft Office (especially Excel)
Strong communication skills and a collaborative approach
Desirable (but not essential):
Part-qualified accountant
