Executive Board Roles: The Scottish Powerchair Football Association (SPFA)

The Scottish Powerchair Football Association (SPFA) is seeking to recruit two Executive Board Roles:

  • Wellbeing and Protection
  • Board Secretary

The SPFA is a Scottish Charity that offers an extraordinary opportunity for individuals with Muscular Dystrophy, Duchenne’s, and those who are paraplegic due to accident or trauma. This inclusive sport allows these athletes to participate in competitive football, a game that fuels their passion and brings them immense joy. Participation is encouraged by players from the age of 10 years.

The Organisation organises and runs domestic competitions – Premier and Championship Leagues as well as a Scottish Cup and Scottish Cup Plate events. Internationally, SPFA competes has a Scottish National Team which has recently qualified to participate in a Euro Nations Tournament to be held in Italy in September.

SPFA is run solely by volunteers.  It has a Trust Board comprising four Trustees, Chair, Treasurer and two others. The Trust Board is supported in its leadership and decision making by an Executive Board which is currently populated by the Director of Operations only.

We are seeking individuals one of whom should be independent of the sport itself for two Executive Board roles, Board Secretary and Safeguarding Lead.
