Remuneration: £16 Per Hour
Role Duration: Minimum 1 academic year
15th September - 30th May
Place of work: Kelvin Hall and Stevenson Building Sports Hall
Hours: 4 hours a week + opportunity for occasional over time.
Club Mission
Glasgow University Gymnastics Club (GUGC) is a competitive/recreational club for all abilities where any University of Glasgow student is welcome to become involved and experience gymnastics.
GUGC's members have a range of skill experience and train together. GUGC strives to provide a welcoming and inclusive atmosphere
Required Certification
- Gymnastics coaching level 2
- Experience coaching artistic gymnastics or tumbling. Acro coaching experience preferred.
- First Aid training preferred.
Required Skills
- Proficient understanding of the technical aspects of the sport.
- Excellent inter-personal and communication skills.
- High-level organisational skills and creativity in lesson planning.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with other coaches and committee members.
- Demonstrated ability to integrate and develop young / inexperienced athletes.
- Ability to coach a range of skill levels.
- Reliability and punctuality.
Responsibilities
- Prepare all Tuesday and Wednesday coaching sessions for the range of club-wide ability.
- Lead and deliver two 2-hour sessions on Tuesday and Wednesday evenings weekly.
- Work proactively, and communicate effectively, with the CTS and Development captain.
- All coaches are required to sign a Code of Conduct at the start of the academic year.
